At the 2020 OR Show, SCARPA announced a new approach shoe that is also comfortable as well as technical. The company introduced its Gecko technical approach shoe that combines a premium suede upper that molds to the feet and a soft Hypertex Air perforated tongue. A minimal midsole with EVAS foam combined with a softer EVA insert provides sensitivity for technical climbing moves but adds comfort and stability as you hike to your climb. SCARPA added its SuperGum rubber sole compound for optimum grip and the shoe weighs in at 320 grams. The company says it’s 65 grams less weight than previous models.
