We do it often, hydrate during a long hike but afterward, it’s great to enjoy a cold beer. But outdoor enthusiasts are not going to suck down just any beer. We’ve become beer connoisseurs of sorts and while tracking down something that meets our tastes, we came across Deschutes Brewery in Oregon.
Oregonians know their beer and because a majority of them like to spend time outdoors, there’s often a few cans and bottles of Deschutes in our cooler. The company recently came out with two new refreshing beers, Da Shootz!, a clean, light citrus pilsner with low ABV and low IBU. Da Shootz! also has only 99 calories and 4.2 cars making it great after a long summer hike.
If you like something more on the ale side, the company also introduced its Lil’ Squeezy Juicy Ale. With a blend of juicy hops and a slight malt infused with citrus flavors, Lil’ Squeezy Juicy Ale is great for a summer BBQ or with a campfire-cooked burger with a side of ranch beans and potato salad. If you’re a gluten-watcher, Lil Squeezy Juicy Ale is crafted to reduce the gluten content to be less than 20 ppm.
Originally founded in 1988 by Gary Fish as a brewpub, Deschutes Brewery has grown and now distributes its beer across the United States. The company utilizes sustainability practices at its brewery in Bend, Oregon, winning a Sustainability Award in 2016.
