Icebreaker’s Rio Pant Review

Classic Design and Comfort

Rio Pant from Icebreaker, a wardrobe staple for your outdoor recreation plans this summer.  I wore the pant from Los Angeles to Italy, with a Zurich layover in between.  With a full day of traveling the globe, I was thankful I had the Rio Pant to provide stylish comfort in economy seating.

Elastic band waist made it easy to slip them on at 4:00 AM to prepare for the hotel shuttle to the airport.  With chilly morning weather, I felt warm in the Rio Pant.  The continental flair at the bottom of the pant brought a tasteful look at the hotel’s outdoor cafe, while the front pockets were deep enough to rest my hands in for additional warmth.

It was nice to have a small zippered pocket off to the side of the pant, especially on the plane.  While it’s difficult enough to keep track of peanuts and crossword puzzle books, it was a welcome addition to store my lip balm in this assured location.

Temperature changes on the plane were evident, but Icebreaker’s Rio pant still provided comfort.  The SF260 fabric is a versatile fabric that provides warmth when you need it, but light enough to provide sufficient air flow and ventilation.

My friends picked me up at the Florence train station late in the travel day and took me straight to dinner!  I simply changed my top and shoes, but the pant caught up nicely with odor resistance after the full flight day.

At the Villa in Italy, I never really put the Rio Pant away in my suit case!  In fact, they stayed out for quick access upon a chair for a morning coffee walk to the pool or jaunt to the Italian market.  The pant has a loose-fitting “yoga” type design, so I wore them to also stretch my legs in the evenings.

Rio Pant is available in a classic black and runs the gamut of XS to XL for an MSRP of $100.00.  If you are uncertain of your size, choose the larger of the two for a more relaxed fit.

Traveling home was a bit trickier as flights were delayed; but I took it all in stride, and comfort thanks to Icebreaker’s Rio Pant.
