Dawn Glanc won the women’s divison in mixed climbing at the 16th annual Ouray Ice Festival held in Ouray, Colorado January 6-9, 2011. Glanc is one of many elite women climbers who attended the event, and placed seventh overall among both men and women. This is her second win in three years of competing in this event. “What an amazing day,” she says. “I never expected to win at Ouray twice.”
Glanc is a Mountain Hardwear sponsored athlete and thanked the crowd for cheering her on, which she claimed “pumped her up” while she was on the ice. The Ouray Ice Festival is the largest U.S. gathering of international ice climbers that also features various events, guest speakers and competition.
