We’re at the 2016 Outdoor Retailer show and met with many manufacturers of outdoor technical and lifestyle products, including Timberland, who will offer new shoe designs that mix traditional and modern elements. Sunde Rosato, Product Manager of Outdoor Footwear at Timberland, showed us two examples of this. The women’s Alderwood mixes traditional leather uppers with breathable mesh, to create a shoe that is trail capable but is also comfortable enough to wear on a daily basis.
Timberland’s Eco Hiker is a men’s shoe that looks like a traditional hiking shoe but is made from breathable mesh, like a sneaker. Both styles feature Timberland’s SensorFlex technology that works much like a car suspension system, with various layers of materials that absorb shock, provide stiffness in key areas and ultimately makes for a more comfortable shoe to wear. Both of these styles will be available in the Fall of 2017 and demonstrates Timberland’s innovation in its evolution of modern outdoor footwear that is stylish, functional, but also allows outdoor enthusiasts to show their passion everywhere they go.
