“The idea is to take a bit of a mad scientist kind of approach, experimenting with designs that might normally be considered too wacky, and then testing those concepts by offering small batch releases to the public,” says Branner.
The Shape Shack concept is being launched this February with a late season release of Venture’s first two experimental shapes. The Euphoria pow surfer boasts rocker, reverse sidecut and a swallowtail and is designed to excel when surfed bindingless. Both a solid and split version are available in a single length option of 162 cm. More size options will be available next season when the Euphoria becomes part of Venture’s standard board lineup.
The Zelix is a directional twin that’s a cross between the company’s popular Zephyr and Helix models. It is available as a solid board only, in three sizes: 158/25, 162/25 and 163/26. A limited number of these special boards are now available. For more information visit www.venturesnowboards.com.
